What is Worldly Life As mentioned in Al-Quran بِسۡمِ اللّٰهِ الرَّحۡمٰنِ الرَّحِيۡم AlMulk 67:1 Purpose of creation of worldly life and death 2. He who created the death and the life that He may test you which of you is best in deed, and He is All Mighty, All Forgiving.
AlAnbia 21:1 Worldly life is a trial 35. Every soul must taste death. And We test you by evil and by good as a trial. And unto Us you will be returned.
AlHadid 57:20 Stages of worldly life 20. Know that the life of this world is only play, and idle talk, and adornment, and boasting among you, and rivalry in increase of wealth and children. Like the example of rain whose (resulting) vegetation pleases the tillers, then it dries, then you see it turned yellow, then it becomes straw. And in the Hereafter is severe punishment, and forgiveness from Allah, and (His) good pleasure. And the life of the world is nothing but a deceiving enjoyment.
AshShura 42:36 Things of worldly life are brief enjoyment 36. So whatever of things you have been given is an enjoyment of the life of the world. And that which is with Allah is better and more lasting for those who believe and upon their Lord they trust.
AAlAala 87:16 You prefer this worldly life 16. But you prefer the life of this world.
Faatir 35:5 Let not worldly life deceive you 5. O mankind, indeed the promise of Allah is true. So let not deceive you the life of the world, and let not deceive you the deceiver (Satan) about Allah.
Fussilat 41:31 Angels will speak about our worldly life 31. We were your friends in the life of the world and in the Hereafter. And you will have therein whatever your souls desire, and you will have therein whatever you ask for.
AzZukhruf 43:32 Livelihood in the life of this world 32. Is it they who distribute the mercy of your Lord. It is We who have distributed between them their livelihood in the life of the world, and We have raised some of them above others in ranks, that some of them may make use of others for service. And the mercy of your Lord is better than that which they accumulate.
Muhammad 47:36 In the worldly life righteousness brings prosperity 36. The life of this world is only a play and diversion. And if you believe and fear, He will give you your rewards, and will not ask of you your possessions.
AnNaziat 79:37-41 Preferring worldly life 37. Then as for him who had rebelled. 38. And preferred the life of the world. 39. Then indeed, Hell shall be his abode. AlGhafir 40:39 Righteous people also warn about worldly life 39. “O my people, this life of the world is only an enjoyment, and indeed, the Hereafter, that is the enduring home.”
AzZumur 39:26 Disbelievers are punished in the worldly life 26. So Allah made them taste humiliation in the life of the world. And the punishment of the Hereafter will be greater, if only they knew.
AlGhafir 40:51 Allah’s help in the worldly life and the Hereafter 51. Indeed, We do help Our messengers, and those who believe, in the life of the world, and on the day when the witnesses will stand forth.
Fussilat 41:61 How punishment may come in the worldly life 16. So We sent upon them a furious wind in evil days, that We might make them taste the punishment of disgrace in the life of the world. And the punishment of the Hereafter will be more disgracing, and they will not be helped.
AzZukhruf 43:35 Adornment of gold are temporary in the worldly life 35. And adornments of gold. And all that is not but an enjoyment of the life of the world. And the Hereafter with your Lord is for the righteous.
AlJasia 44:35 Rejecting Allah’s word brings deception in the worldly life 35. That is because you took the verses of Allah in ridicule, and the life of the world deceived you. So that Day, they shall not be taken out from it (Fire), nor can they make amends.
AnNajam 53:29 Not remembering Allah is only seeking worldly life 29. So withdraw from him who turns away from Our remembrance, and does not seek but the life of the world.
AlBaqarah 2:85-86 Not believing in the Book brings disgrace in the worldly life 85. Then do you believe in part of the Scripture, and disbelieve you in part. Then what is the recompense of those who do so among you, except disgrace in the life of the world, and on the Day of Resurrection they will be sent back to the severest of punishment. And Allah is not unaware of what you do.
86. Such are those who have bought the life of the world in place of Hereafter. So the punishment will not be lightened from them, nor will they be helped.
AlBaqarah 2:204 False speech in the worldly life 204. And of the people is he whose speech pleases you (O Muhammad) in worldly life, and he calls Allah to witness as to what is in his heart. And he is the fiercest of opponents.
AlBaqarah 2:212 Worldly life is beautified for the disbelievers 212. Beautified for those who disbelieve is the life of this world, and they ridicule of those who believe. And those who fear will be above them on the Day of Resurrection. And Allah gives provision to whom He wills without measure.
AalImran 3:14 Beautified is the worldly life for the people 14. Beautified for mankind is love of that they desire of women, and sons, and heaped up sums of gold, and silver, and horses branded, and cattle, and tilled land. That is enjoyment of the life of the world. And Allah, with Him is the excellent return.
AalImran 3:117 Spending only for the worldly life 117. The example of that which they spend in this life of the world is as the example of a wind with frost in it, which struck the harvest of a people who have wronged themselves, then destroyed it. And Allah did not wrong them, but they do wrong to themselves.
AalImran 3:185 Worldly life and enjoyment of deception 185. Every soul will taste death. And you will only be paid in full your wages on the Day of Resurrection. Then whoever is removed from the Fire, and is admitted to Paradise, then indeed, he is successful. And the life of this world is not but an enjoyment of deception.
AnNisa 4:74 Those who sell life of this world for Hereafter 74. So let them fight in the cause of Allah, those who sell the life of this world for the Hereafter. And whoever fights in the cause of Allah, and is killed or gets victory, then We shall bestow upon him a great reward.
AnNisa 4:94 Seeking the gains of the life of this world 94. O those who believe, when you go forth (to fight) in the cause of Allah, investigate carefully, and do not say to him who greets you peace: “You are not a believer.” Seeking the profits of the life of this world. For with Allah are plenteous spoils. Even thus (as he now is) were you before, then Allah conferred His favors on you, so investigate carefully. Indeed, Allah is ever informed of what you do.
AlAnaam 6:32 Life of this world is nothing but play and amusement 32. And the life of this world is not but play and amusement. And the abode of the Hereafter is better for those who fear (Allah). Will you not then understand.
AlAnaam 6:94 Life of this world is nothing but play and amusement 70. And leave alone those who take their religion for a play and amusement, and whom the life of the world has deluded. And remind with it (Quran) lest a soul be destroyed by what it has earned.
AlAnaam 6:130 And the life of the world deceived them 130. “O you assembly of the jinns and the mankind, did not there come to you messengers from amongst you, reciting to you My verses, and warning you of the meeting of this Day of yours.” They will say: “We bear witness against ourselves.” And the life of the world deceived them. And they will bear witness against themselves that they were disbelievers.
AlAaraf 7:32 Good things of life of the world are for the slaves of Allah 32. Say: “Who has forbidden the adornment of Allah which He has brought forth for His slaves and the good things of provision.” Say: “They are for those who believe, in the life of this world, (and) exclusively on the Day of Resurrection.” Thus, do We explain in detail the revelations for a people who have knowledge.
AlAaraf 7:51 In the worldly life do not take your religion as play 51. Those who took their religion as an amusement and play, and the life of the world deceived them. So this day, We shall forget them, just as they forgot meeting of this Day of theirs. And as they used to repudiate Our signs.
AlAaraf 7:152 Worshipping other than Allah is humiliation in the life of the world 152. Certainly, those who took the calf (for worship), wrath will come upon them from their Lord, and humiliation in the life of the world. And thus do We recompense those who fabricate lies.
AtTauba 9:38 Pleasure in the life of the world rather than the Hereafter. 38. O those who believe, what is with you, when it is said to you, march forth in the way of Allah, you adhere heavily to the earth. Do you take pleasure in the life of the world rather than the Hereafter. So what is the enjoyment of the life of this world as compared with the Hereafter except a little.
AtTauba 9:55 Allah’s punishment in the life of this world 55. So let not amaze you (O Muhammad), their wealth, nor their children. Allah only intends to punish them through them in the life of the world, and that their souls shall pass away while they are disbelievers.
Younus 10 Are you content with the life of this world 7. Indeed, those who do not expect the meeting with Us, and are content with the life of the world, and are satisfied with it. And those who are neglectful of Our revelations.
23. Then when He has delivered them, behold, they rebel in the earth without right. O mankind, your rebellion is only against your own selves. An enjoyment of the life of the world, then unto Us is your return, then We shall certainly inform you of what you used to do.
24. The example of the life of the world is only as water that We send down from the sky, then by its mingling arises the produce of the earth, which men and cattle eat. Until when the earth has taken on its ornaments and is beautified, and its people think that they have powers of disposal over it, there reaches to it Our command by night or by day, so We make it a harvest clean mown, as if it had not flourished the day before. Thus do We explain the revelations for a people who give thought.
63. Those who believed and used to fear (Allah). 64. For them are good tidings in the life of the world and in the Hereafter. The words of Allah shall not change. That is the supreme success.
88. And Moses said: “Our Lord, indeed You have given Pharaoh and his chiefs splendor and wealth in the life of the world. Our Lord, that they may lead (people) astray from Your path.”
98. So why was there not a township that believed so its belief benefited it, except the people of Jonah. When they believed, We removed from them the punishment of disgrace in the life of the world, and We gave them comfort for a while.
Houd 11:15-16 Whoever desires the life of this world - He gets it 15. Whoever desires the life of the world and its adornments, We shall pay in full to them their deeds therein. And they will have no diminution therein.
16. They are those for whom there is nothing in the Hereafter, except Fire. And lost is what they did therein, and worthless is that which they used to do.
ArRaad 13:26,34 Life of this world compared to Hereafter 26. Allah increases the provision for whom He wills, and straitens (it for whom He wills), and they rejoice in the life of the world. While the life of the world is not, as compared with the Hereafter, except (a brief) enjoyment.
34. For them is a punishment in the life of the world, and the punishment of the Hereafter is more severe. And they do not have against Allah any protector.
Ibrahim 14:3,27 Loving the life of this world over Hereafter 3. Those who love the life of this world over the Hereafter, and hinder (people) from the path of Allah and seek therein crookedness, such are in error, far away.
27. Allah keeps firm those who believe, by a firm saying, in the life of this world and in the Hereafter. And Allah will cause to go astray those who are wrong doers. And Allah does what He wills.
AnNahal 16:107 Loving the life of this world over Hereafter 107. That is because they love the life of the world over the Hereafter, and that Allah does not guide the people who disbelieve.
AlKahaf 18:28,45,46,104 Desiring adornments of the life of this world 28. And keep yourself patient with those who call upon their Lord in the morning and the evening, seeking His countenance. And let not your eyes overlook them, desiring adornments of the life of the world. And do not obey him whose heart We have made heedless of Our remembrance, and who follows his own desire and whose affair has been abandoned.
45. And set forth to them the similitude of the life of the world, as water which We send down from the sky, so the vegetation of the earth mingles with it, then it becomes dry stubble that the winds scatter. And Allah is Perfect in Ability over all things.
46. Wealth and children are the adornment of the life of this world. And the righteous deeds which endure are better with your Lord for reward, and better in respect of hope.
104. Those whose efforts have been wasted in the life of the world, and they think that they are doing good in work.
Taha 20:72,131 Injustice may only be done in the life of this world 72. They said: “We shall never prefer you above what has come to us of the clear proofs, and (above) Him who created us. So decree whatever you will decree. You can only decree (regarding) this life of the world.”
131. And do not strain your eyes towards that by which We have given enjoyment to various groups of them, the splendor of the life of this world, that We may test them thereby. And the provision of your Lord is better and more enduring.
AlMominoon 23:33 Luxuries in the worldly life may lead to disbelief 33. And the chiefs of his people said, those (chiefs) who had disbelieved and denied the meeting of the Hereafter and to whom We had given the luxuries in the worldly life: “This is not but a human being like you. He eats of that from which you eat, and drinks of what you drink.”
AnNoor 24:33 Compelling slave girls for the gains in the life of this world 33. And do not compel your slave girls to prostitution if they would desire their chastity, that you may seek enjoyment of the life of the world. And whoever would compel them, then indeed after their compulsion, Allah will be Forgiving, Merciful.
AlQasas 28:60,61,79 What is with Allah is better than the life of this world 60. And whatever you have been given of the things is an enjoyment of the life of the world and its adornment. And that which is with Allah is better and more lasting. Have you then no sense.
61. Then is he whom We have promised an excellent promise, which he will find (true), like him whom We have made to enjoy the comfort of the life of the world. Then he will be, on the Day of Resurrection, among those brought.
79. Then he came out before his people in his adornment. Those who desired the life of the world said: “Oh, would that we had the like of what has been given to Korah. Indeed, he is the owner of a great fortune.”
AlAnkaboot 29:25,64 Loving only the life of this world 25. And he (Abraham) said: “You have taken only idols other than Allah. The love between you is (only) in the life of the world. Then on the Day of Resurrection you will deny one another, and you will curse one another, and your abode will be the Fire, and you shall not have any helpers.”
64. And the life of this world is nothing but an amusement and play. And indeed, the home of the Hereafter, that is indeed the life, if they (but) knew.
ArRoom 30:7 Knowing only the life of this world 7. They know what is apparent of the life of the world, and they, about the Hereafter, they are heedless.
Luqman 31:33 Let not deceive you the life of the world 33. O mankind: “Fear your Lord and fear a Day when no father shall avail for his son, nor a son, he shall avail for his father anything. Indeed, Allah’s promise is the truth. So let not deceive you the life of the world, nor let deceive you about Allah the deceiver (Satan).”
AlAhzab 33:28 Desiring the life of this world 28. O Prophet (Muhammad), say to your wives: “If you should desire the life of the world and its adornment, then come, I will make a provision for you and send you off (by divorce), a graceful sending.”
