Talk and Walk with Humility not with Arrogance As mentioned in AlQuran Luqman 31-18,19 Luqman advising his son - How to talk - How to walk And do not turn your cheek in scorn toward people, nor walk in the land exultantly. Indeed, Allah does not love each self-conceited boaster. وَ لَا تُصَعِّرۡ خَدَّكَ لِلنَّاسِ وَلَا تَمۡشِ فِى الۡاَرۡضِ مَرَحًا ؕ اِنَّ اللّٰهَ لَا يُحِبُّ كُلَّ مُخۡتَالٍ فَخُوۡرٍ ۚ And be moderate in your walking, and lower your voice. Indeed, the harshest of all sounds is the voice of the donkey. وَاقۡصِدۡ فِىۡ مَشۡيِكَ وَاغۡضُضۡ مِنۡ صَوۡتِكَ ؕ اِنَّ اَنۡكَرَ الۡاَصۡوَاتِ لَصَوۡتُ الۡحَمِيۡرِ AlAhzab 33-70,71 Speak words directed to the right O you who believe, fear Allah, and speak words directed to the right. يٰۤاَيُّهَا الَّذِيۡنَ اٰمَنُوا اتَّقُوا اللّٰهَ وَقُوۡلُوۡا قَوۡلاً سَدِيۡدًا ۙ He will make righteous for you your deeds, and He will forgive you your sins. And whoever obeys Allah and His Messenger, then certainly he has attained a great achievement. يُّصۡلِحۡ لَـكُمۡ اَعۡمَالَـكُمۡ وَ يَغۡفِرۡ لَـكُمۡ ذُنُوۡبَكُمۡ ؕ وَ مَنۡ يُّطِعِ اللّٰهَ وَرَسُوۡلَهٗ فَقَدۡ فَازَ فَوۡزًا عَظِيۡمًا AlIsra 17-53 Shaitan uses man’s words to cause dispute And say to My servants to speak that which is best. Indeed, Satan sows discord among them. Indeed, Satan is to mankind a clear enemy. وَ قُلۡ لِّعِبَادِىۡ يَقُوۡلُوا الَّتِىۡ هِىَ اَحۡسَنُ ؕ اِنَّ الشَّيۡطٰنَ يَنۡزَغُ بَيۡنَهُمۡ ؕ اِنَّ الشَّيۡطٰنَ كَانَ لِلۡاِنۡسَانِ عَدُوًّا مُّبِيۡنًا AlIsra 17-28 If you cannot help a needy- say at least a word of kindness And if you have to turn away from them (needy), awaiting mercy from your Lord, which you expect, then speak to them a word of kindness. وَاِمَّا تُعۡرِضَنَّ عَنۡهُمُ ابۡتِغَآءَ رَحۡمَةٍ مِّنۡ رَّبِّكَ تَرۡجُوۡهَا فَقُل لَّهُمۡ قَوۡلاً مَّيۡسُوۡرًا AlIsra 17-23 To parents speak a gracious word And your Lord has decreed that you worship none except Him, and (show) kindness to parents. If they attain old age (while) with you, one of them or both of them, do not say to them a word of disrespect, nor shout at them, and speak to them a gracious word. وَقَضٰى رَبُّكَ اَلَّا تَعۡبُدُوۡۤا اِلَّاۤ اِيَّاهُ وَبِالۡوَالِدَيۡنِ اِحۡسَانًا ؕ اِمَّا يَـبۡلُغَنَّ عِنۡدَكَ الۡكِبَرَ اَحَدُهُمَاۤ اَوۡ كِلٰهُمَا فَلَا تَقُلۡ لَّهُمَاۤ اُفٍّ وَّلَا تَنۡهَرۡهُمَا وَقُلۡ لَّهُمَا قَوۡلاً كَرِيۡمًا AlIsra 17-37 Do not walk upon the earth in arrogance And do not walk upon the earth in arrogance. Indeed, you can never tear the earth and never can you reach to the mountains in height. وَ لَا تَمۡشِ فِى الۡاَرۡضِ مَرَحًا ۚ اِنَّكَ لَنۡ تَخۡرِقَ الۡاَرۡضَ وَ لَنۡ تَبۡلُغَ الۡجِبَالَ طُوۡلاً AlBaqarah 02-83 And speak good to all mankind And speak good to mankind.
وَ قُوۡلُوۡا لِلنَّاسِ حُسۡنًا
AnNisa 04-08 Speak word of kindness to needy And when the near of kin and the orphans and the needy are present at the division (of the inheritance), then provide for them from it, and speak to them words of kindness. وَ اِذَا حَضَرَ الۡقِسۡمَةَ اُولُوا الۡقُرۡبَىٰ وَالۡيَتٰمٰى وَ الۡمَسٰكِيۡنُ فَارۡزُقُوۡهُمۡ مِّنۡهُ وَ قُوۡلُوۡا لَهُمۡ قَوۡلاً مَّعۡرُوۡفًا AnNisa 04-171 Do not attribute a word toward Allah if he did not say O People of the Scripture, do not commit excess in your religion, nor say about Allah except the truth. يٰۤاَهۡلَ الۡكِتٰبِ لَا تَغۡلُوۡا فِىۡ دِيۡنِكُمۡ وَلَا تَقُوۡلُوۡا عَلَى اللّٰهِ اِلَّا الۡحَـقَّ AlAaraf 07-33 Do not attribute a word to Allah which you do not know And that you say about Allah that which you do not know. وَّاَنۡ تَقُوۡلُوۡا عَلَى اللّٰهِ مَا لَا تَعۡلَمُوۡنَ AlAaraf 49-02 Do not raise your voice towards your elders O you who believe, do not raise your voices above the voice of the Prophet, nor speak aloud to him in talk as you speak aloud to one another, lest your deeds may be rendered vain while you perceive not. يٰۤاَيُّهَا الَّذِيۡنَ اٰمَنُوۡا لَا تَرۡفَعُوۡۤا اَصۡوَاتَكُمۡ فَوۡقَ صَوۡتِ النَّبِىِّ وَلَا تَجۡهَرُوۡا لَهٗ بِالۡقَوۡلِ كَجَهۡرِ بَعۡضِكُمۡ لِبَعۡضٍ اَنۡ تَحۡبَطَ اَعۡمَالُكُمۡ وَ اَنۡـتُمۡ لَا تَشۡعُرُوۡنَ AlMulk 76-13 Speak secretly or openly, Allah knows And conceal your talk or proclaim it. He certainly is Knower of what is in the breasts. وَاَسِرُّوۡا قَوۡلَـكُمۡ اَوِ اجۡهَرُوۡا بِهٖ ؕ اِنَّهٗ عَلِيۡمٌۢ بِذَاتِ الصُّدُوۡرِ AlMulk 76-22 A guided person is like the one walking upright Then is he who is walking fallen on his face better guided, or he who is walking upright on a straight path. اَفَمَنۡ يَّمۡشِىۡ مُكِبًّا عَلٰى وَجۡهِهٖۤ اَهۡدٰٓى اَمَّنۡ يَّمۡشِىۡ سَوِيًّا عَلٰى صِراطٍ مُّسۡتَقِيۡمٍ AlHujrat 49-12 Do not talk behind someone’s back O you who believe, avoid much of suspicion, indeed some suspicions are sins. And do not spy, nor should any one of you backbite the other. يٰۤاَيُّهَا الَّذِيۡنَ اٰمَنُوا اجۡتَنِبُوۡا كَثِيۡرًا مِّنَ الظَّنِّ اِنَّ بَعۡضَ الظَّنِّ اِثۡمٌ وَّلَا تَجَسَّسُوۡا وَلَا يَغۡتَبْ بَّعۡضُكُمۡ بَعۡضًا ؕ
