Do and Don’t do to others Foundation for a moral Society As mentioned in Al-Quran بِسۡمِ اللّٰهِ الرَّحۡمٰنِ الرَّحِيۡم Luqman 31:18 Do not be arrogant with others 18. And do not turn your cheek in scorn toward people, nor walk in the land exultantly. Indeed, Allah does not love each self-conceited boaster. وَ لَا تُصَعِّرۡ خَدَّكَ لِلنَّاسِ وَلَا تَمۡشِ فِى الۡاَرۡضِ مَرَحًا ؕ اِنَّ اللّٰهَ لَا يُحِبُّ كُلَّ مُخۡتَالٍ فَخُوۡرٍۚ Luqman 31:19 Be moderate and lower your voice with others 19. And be moderate in your walking, and lower your voice. Indeed, the harshest of all sounds is the voice of the donkey. وَاقۡصِدۡ فِىۡ مَشۡيِكَ وَاغۡضُضۡ مِنۡ صَوۡتِكَؕ اِنَّ اَنۡكَرَ الۡاَصۡوَاتِ لَصَوۡتُ الۡحَمِيۡرِ AlHujarat 49:11 Do not ridicule people - Do not insult one another
Do not call one another by evil names
11. O you who believe, neither should men mock other men, it may be that these are better than they, nor women (mock) other women, it may be that these are better than they. And do not insult one another among yourselves, nor call one another by nicknames. Bad is the name of disobedience after faith. And whoever does not repent, then it is those who are the wrongdoers. يٰۤاَيُّهَا الَّذِيۡنَ اٰمَنُوۡا لَا يَسۡخَرۡ قَوۡمٌ مِّنۡ قَوۡمٍ عَسٰٓى اَنۡ يَّكُوۡنُوۡا خَيۡرًا مِّنۡهُمۡ وَلَا نِسَآءٌ مِّنۡ نِّسَآءٍ عَسٰٓى اَنۡ يَّكُنَّ خَيۡرًا مِّنۡهُنَّۚ وَلَا تَلۡمِزُوۡۤا اَنۡفُسَكُمۡ وَلَا تَنَابَزُوۡا بِالۡاَلۡقَابِؕ بِئۡسَ الِاسۡمُ الۡفُسُوۡقُ بَعۡدَ الۡاِيۡمَانِ ۚ وَ مَنۡ لَّمۡ يَتُبۡ فَاُولٰٓٮِٕكَ هُمُ الظّٰلِمُوۡنَ AlHujarat 49:11 Do not spy on each other - Do not backbite about each other 12. O you who believe, avoid much of suspicion, indeed some suspicions are sins. And do not spy, nor should any one of you backbite the other. Would any among you like to eat the flesh of his dead brother, you would hate it. And fear Allah. Indeed, Allah is Acceptor of repentance, All Merciful. يٰۤاَيُّهَا الَّذِيۡنَ اٰمَنُوا اجۡتَنِبُوۡا كَثِيۡرًا مِّنَ الظَّنِّ اِنَّ بَعۡضَ الظَّنِّ اِثۡمٌ وَّلَا تَجَسَّسُوۡا وَلَا يَغۡتَبْ بَّعۡضُكُمۡ بَعۡضًاؕ اَ يُحِبُّ اَحَدُكُمۡ اَنۡ يَّاۡكُلَ لَحۡمَ اَخِيۡهِ مَيۡتًا فَكَرِهۡتُمُوۡهُؕ وَاتَّقُوا اللّٰهَؕ اِنَّ اللّٰهَ تَوَّابٌ رَّحِيۡمٌ AlFurqan 25:63 Be humble and respond ignorant with peace 63. And the slaves of the Beneficent are those who walk upon the earth humbly. And when the ignorant people address them, they say: “Peace.” وَ عِبَادُ الرَّحۡمٰنِ الَّذِيۡنَ يَمۡشُوۡنَ عَلَى الۡاَرۡضِ هَوۡنًا وَّ اِذَا خَاطَبَهُمُ الۡجٰهِلُوۡنَ قَالُوۡا سَلٰمًا AlIsra 17:36 Do not follow that of which you have no knowledge 36. And do not follow that of which you have no knowledge. Indeed, the hearing, and the sight, and the heart, each of these shall be called to account. وَ لَا تَقۡفُ مَا لَـيۡسَ لَـكَ بِهٖ عِلۡمٌؕ اِنَّ السَّمۡعَ وَ الۡبَصَرَ وَ الۡفُؤَادَ كُلُّ اُولٰۤٮِٕكَ كَانَ عَنۡهُ مَسۡـُٔوۡلاً AlIsra 17:53 Speak that which is best 53. And say to My servants to speak that which is best. Indeed, Satan sows discord among them. Indeed, Satan is to mankind an open enemy. وَ قُلۡ لِّعِبَادِىۡ يَقُوۡلُوا الَّتِىۡ هِىَ اَحۡسَنُؕ اِنَّ الشَّيۡطٰنَ يَنۡزَغُ بَيۡنَهُمۡ ؕاِنَّ الشَّيۡطٰنَ كَانَ لِلۡاِنۡسَانِ عَدُوًّا مُّبِيۡنًا AlHujarat 49:10 Make peace among each other 10. Indeed, the believers are brothers, so make peace between your brethren, and fear Allah that you may receive mercy. اِنَّمَا الۡمُؤۡمِنُوۡنَ اِخۡوَةٌ فَاَصۡلِحُوۡا بَيۡنَ اَخَوَيۡكُمۡ وَ اتَّقُوا اللّٰهَ لَعَلَّكُمۡ تُرۡحَمُوۡنَ AshShura 42:38 Resolve your matters by mutual consultation 38. And those who answer the call of their Lord and establish prayer, and whose affairs are a matter of counsel among them, and from what We have provided them, they spend. وَالَّذِيۡنَ اسۡتَجَابُوۡا لِرَبِّهِمۡ وَ اَقَامُوا الصَّلٰوةَ وَ اَمۡرُهُمۡ شُوۡرٰى بَيۡنَهُمۡ وَ مِمَّا رَزَقۡنٰهُمۡ يُنۡفِقُوۡنَۚ
