Quranic Teachings - Dispute not لَا تَنَازَعُوۡا In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful Aal Imran 3:152 A Lesson from History (Battle of Uhad in Madinah) 152. And Allah has certainly fulfilled His promise to you when you were killing them (enemy) by His permission. Until when you lost courage, and you disputed about the order (of Muhammad) and you disobeyed, after what He had shown you that which you love. Among you are some who desired the world, and among you are some who desired the Hereafter. Then He made you turn back from them (defeated), that He might test you. And He has surely forgiven you. And Allah is Most Gracious to the believers. وَ لَقَدۡ صَدَقَكُمُ اللّٰهُ وَعۡدَهٗۤ اِذۡ تَحُسُّوۡنَهُمۡ بِاِذۡنِهٖۚ حَتّٰیٓ اِذَا فَشِلۡتُمۡ وَتَنٰزَعۡتُمۡ فِى الۡاَمۡرِ وَ عَصَيۡتُمۡ مِّنۡۢ بَعۡدِ مَاۤ اَرٰٮكُمۡ مَّا تُحِبُّوۡنَؕ مِنۡكُمۡ مَّنۡ يُّرِيۡدُ الدُّنۡيَا وَ مِنۡكُمۡ مَّنۡ يُّرِيۡدُ الۡاٰخِرَةَ ۚ ثُمَّ صَرَفَكُمۡ عَنۡهُمۡ لِيَبۡتَلِيَكُمۡۚ وَ لَقَدۡ عَفَا عَنۡكُمۡؕ وَ اللّٰهُ ذُوۡ فَضۡلٍ عَلَى الۡمُؤۡمِنِيۡنَ
Second battle in AlMadinah which Muslims lost. Then if you have a dispute concerning any matter, refer it to Allah and the messenger if you are believers in Allah and the Last Day. That is better and more commendable in the end. يٰۤاَيُّهَا الَّذِيۡنَ اٰمَنُوۡۤا اَطِيۡعُوا اللّٰهَ وَاَطِيۡعُوا الرَّسُوۡلَ وَ اُولِى الۡاَمۡرِ مِنۡكُمۡ ۚ فَاِنۡ تَنَازَعۡتُمۡ فِىۡ شَىۡءٍ فَرُدُّوۡهُ اِلَى اللّٰهِ وَالرَّسُوۡلِ اِنۡ كُنۡتُمۡ تُؤۡمِنُوۡنَ بِاللّٰهِ وَالۡيَوۡمِ الۡاٰخِرِؕ ذٰلِكَ خَيۡرٌ وَّ اَحۡسَنُ تَاۡوِيۡلاً AlAnfaal 8:46 Dispute Causes Loss of Courage and Strength 46. And obey Allah and His Messenger, and do not dispute (one with another), lest you should lose courage and your strength may depart, and be patient. Indeed, Allah is with those who are patient. وَ اَطِيۡعُوا اللّٰهَ وَ رَسُوۡلَهٗ وَ لَا تَنَازَعُوۡا فَتَفۡشَلُوۡا وَ تَذۡهَبَ رِيۡحُكُمۡ وَاصۡبِرُوۡا ؕ اِنَّ اللّٰهَ مَعَ الصّٰبِرِيۡنَۚ
